TREATMENT OPTIONS

Depressive Disorders

Raised in a culture that often overlooks feelings and emotions, I comprehend the difficulties in acknowledging the need for help. It requires immense courage and self-awareness to seek assistance when necessary.

In my professional journey, I've worked with individuals experiencing mild to severe depression, originating from psychosocial stressors or seemingly without any identifiable cause.

After completing medical school and residency training, I personally understand the overwhelming nature of anxiety, where it can become our sole focus. My approach to anxiety treatment focuses on reducing the intensity of the hyperactive fight or flight response rather than numbing emotions, aiming for a more manageable level.

Bipolar Spectrum Disorder

While training in NYC, I worked with a diverse patient population, including those at higher risk for bipolar disorder—individuals with a family history, a background of substance abuse, and those who have faced traumatic events.

Being diagnosed with bipolar disorder can be daunting, but I want to assure you of the various treatment options. Together, we can collaboratively find the most effective approach for your well-being.

Trauma-Related Disorders

As an Active Duty military psychiatrist, I've treated numerous clients with acute stress reactions to severe and chronic PTSD. Common trauma exposures include deployment-related trauma, childhood and adult sexual assault, and near-death experiences.

One core philosophy in my psychiatry practice is integrating trauma-informed care to foster a culture of safety, empowerment, and healing.

Psychotic Disorders

During my training at a Level 1 Trauma Center in NYC, I gained a profound understanding of the stigmatization associated with a psychotic disorder diagnosis.

Whether the psychosis is functional, organic, or substance-induced, my primary goal is to alleviate your distress through an empathetic and non-judgmental approach.

(ADHD) Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

With the rise of social media, destigmatization of mental illness, and heightened isolation during the global pandemic, I recognize that undiagnosed ADHD can exacerbate symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Conversely, untreated depression and anxiety may manifest as inattentiveness and concentration deficits. It's crucial to emphasize lifestyle/behavior modifications and psychotherapy as primary ADHD treatments before considering medications.

Note: Due to the nature of my
tele-psychiatry practice, I do not prescribe any controlled medications such as Adderall, Vyvanse, Concerta, Ritalin, etc.
